Why Choose Double Glazing For Your Home

Sealed units can be defined as two glass panes separated by a small gap installed into a frame and this process is referred to as double glazing. The gap between the two window panes ranges between 12mm to 20 mm.

A 20mm sealed unit is very efficient because it allows good air circulation but this has a negative impact in insulation. A 16mm sealed unit is our optimum thickness and can be recommended widely as the best. A 12mm sealed unit is as good as a 20mm.The air tapped between the window panes acts as an insulator. Since glass is a very good conductor of heat, the air held by the two window panes act as an insulator. This effect reduces the heat conduction between the two panes. The double glazing units are filled with argon, a gas that is economical and is suitable for home use.

The Plasticised Poly Vinyl Chloride is used to seal any point(s) that may be allowing air to enter into the insulated window. This unwanted air has the negative effect of forming moisture and as it condenses this in turn affects the visibility and clarity of the window. UPVC is very effective when it comes to heat insulation. It is durable and very economical.

Using this of method window insulation helps the user in several ways such as control heat loss, outside noise management, increase value and marketability of a property using double glazed units and saving fuel bill are some of the benefits.

The cost of double glazing is outweighed by the enormous benefits that are derived by using this form of window insulation method. In the long run the economic benefit of using this method of insulation can be felt in terms of power cost reduction and also reducing carbon footprint hence making it environmental friendly.
